Designer, Illustrator, Teacher & Dog Lover
My passion is design, my hobby is illustration
and my love is cuddling my little dog.
I grew up in a small-ish country town in the middle of Victoria, Australia, halfway between Bendigo and Ballarat, if you know where they are.
While there, I recieved an excellent education, during which, I decided
to become a graphic designer. I figured it would be a great way to make stuff while getting paid for creative output. So, off to university I went.
The University of Ballarat to be specific, and I gained my Bachelor of Visual Arts (Graphic Design/Multimedia). I met a whole lot of unreal people and made some good memories with them. It came to the end
of the course, 'finally time to earn some money' I thought. Alas, I could not land a job, even after a couple of dodgy interviews and weird emails.
So, back to university I go.
Federation University this time, doing the Masters of Education (Secondary) course to be exact. This course changed my whole outlook on my life's career, and now, I have found the balance I have been craving and landed a teaching job at a lovely little school in rural Victoria. I teach Visual Communication Design to Secondary School students who inspire me just as much as (or quite possibly more) I inspire them.
In my spare time I still design for friends, family and small businesses, I also create art prints that are available for purchase on Society6.
I believe I have found the perfect balance.
